Ontologically rooted in Christian Mysticism and inspired by affective neuroscience, depth psychology, trauma science, and psychodynamic systems theory, ISA integrates insights from researchers such as Jaak Panksepp, Mark Solms, and Carl Jung to address how trauma fragments identity, memory, and agency. The model focuses on identifying and transforming Malignant Complexes: trauma-formed psychogenic patterns that hijack behavior through different types of dissociation, repetition compulsion, and state-dependent memory.

At the core of ISA is the development of a stable Dominant Ego Personality (DEP): a resilient, self-regulating executive structure capable of translating instinctual signals into cognitive awareness without suppression or dissociation.
