Temenos

Temenos (Låneord), dansk

Definition
If you don’t have a sacred place inside yourself, the archetypal world will tear you apart. A temenos is your inner safe zone, a mental, emotional, or even physical space where you can reflect, feel, and face yourself without judgment or distraction. The word comes from ancient Greece, meaning a place set aside for the gods. Depth psychologist Carl Jung used it to describe the psychic "room" where deep change and healing can happen. This version of temenos has been updated and clarified by Michael C. Walker to guide modern men in creating soul space in a world that constantly pulls them outward into utter darkness.

Why It Matters
Without a temenos, you get possessed by other people's beliefs, emotions, and gods. This space is how you keep your center and your soul.

The following life symptoms commonly persist despite years of therapy or self-help and signal deeper bottom-up dysregulation addressed by Integrative Self-Analysis:

  • Chronic anxiety or a constant “hum of threat” that does not resolve with insight work

  • Persistent sense that something is fundamentally off, even when life looks fine on paper

  • Emotional dysregulation: sudden rage, crashing sadness, chronic anxiety, depression, shame spikes

  • Feeling emotionally flooded, like emotions are “too big,” followed by shutdown or numbness

  • Inability to reliably self-soothe or return to calm after stress

  • Relentless inner critic that overrides progress from affirmations or reframing

  • Feeling like an outsider, chronically different, unable to belong

  • Seeking validation while distrusting compliments, care, or genuine affection

  • Relationship instability: intense longing for connection paired with fear of abandonment or betrayal

  • Repeating unhealthy relationship dynamics, including trauma bonding patterns

  • Boundary dysfunction: cannot say no, over-giving, or going rigid and cutting people off

  • Persistent distrust of others that undermines secure attachment

  • Dissociation: zoning out, feeling detached, watching your life from the outside

  • Depersonalization: feeling unreal

  • Derealization: the world feeling unreal

  • Memory gaps, “losing time,” or fragmented recall under stress

  • Difficulty accessing emotions, feeling disconnected from your own experience

  • Hypervigilance: constantly scanning for danger, anticipating the worst

  • Chronic stress exhaustion, nervous system stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn

  • Physical symptoms that persist despite treatment attempts: chronic pain, digestive issues, fatigue

  • “Body on high alert” even when there is no immediate threat

  • Medical ambiguity: symptoms that are hard to diagnose or treat effectively

  • Loss of meaning and hope: inability to envision a future, feeling doomed

  • Anhedonia: inability to experience pleasure or joy

  • Existential collapse: questioning the point of existence, spiritual isolation

  • Shame, guilt, and self-blame that feel internalized, like carrying the abuser’s narrative

  • Difficulty seeking help because self-condemnation blocks trust and receptivity

  • Difficulty with self-compassion and self-care: neglecting basic needs, self-sabotage

  • Belief that you do not deserve care, comfort, or support

  • Internal conflict: one part needs nurturing, another rejects it

  • Pervasive emptiness: hollow core, numbness, disconnection from self and world

  • Chronic unfulfillment and compulsive searching for external stimulation

  • Unconscious reenactment of trauma: repeating familiar harmful dynamics

  • Self-sabotaging patterns that block safety, stability, and intimacy

  • Feeling trapped by state-dependent reactions that “take over” despite knowing better

  • Feeling like you are constantly fighting an unseen battle

  • Deep loneliness and chronic disconnection that does not lift with standard self-help approaches

Why It Matters
We need to move away from pathologizing legitimate reactions to the madness of the world we live in. We must move beyond sanctioned victemhood.

Through-Line

Gennemgående Livstema, dansk

Definition

If you don’t know your deeper story, you’ll keep repeating the same patterns without knowing why. A Through-Line is the hidden thread shaping your life from behind the scenes. It may start with pain or inflation, but hidden in story is the gold of your true potential. This idea comes from Psycho-Systems Analysis, where your deepest wounds often hold clues to your destiny. Updated through the lens of Michael C. Walker, calling it GoldLine Biography, and first inspired by James Hillman and then Psycho-Systems Analysis, the Through-Line connects to the ancient Greek idea of the daimon, your inner genius pointing you toward who you are already meant to become.

Why It Matters

Your soul isn’t worried about where you came from. It cares where you’re meant to go.

Transcendent Function

Transcendens Funktion, dansk

Definition

Ignoring or over identifying with the Transcendent Function traps you in old wounds and toxic patterns that block growth. This is a powerful process that connects your cognitive mind with your Instinctual Consciousness, tapping into a supernatural power from the meta-instincts, or archetypes. This power creates an energy stronger than the trauma that hurt you. The Transcendent Function, updated and redefined by Michael C. Walker, lets you access new insights beyond your usual experience. It blends feelings, thoughts, qualia, and spiritual knowing (gnosis) to form a healing force called a Counter-Complex. This helps you build a stronger, wiser self (Dominant Ego Personality) connected to your deeper instincts and the world around you. There is a caution, like Wendy in "Peter Pan" it is perfectly normal to be swept away with the fairy dust of the transcendent function.

Why It Matters

Learn this mystery and build the inner strength to hold and use your true power, without losing yourself in it. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay trapped in Neverland!

Undifferentiated Diagnosis

Udifferentieret Diagnose, dansk

Definition

An undifferentiated diagnosis means doctors can see something is wrong, but it doesn’t fit cleanly into any one disease category. The symptoms are real, the body is speaking, but the official checklists can’t catch it. This is often where traditional medicine shows its blind spot.

In depth-psychology terms, this often happens when the etiology is not purely physical but tied to deep, unresolved trauma living in the nervous system called Psychogenic Transduction. Drawing on the work of Steve & Pauline Richards and Michael C. Walker, this can be the body’s way of expressing memory constellations from old wounds, where the real “illness” is the unhealed story the soul has been carrying.

These cases are called “syndromic,” “undifferentiated,” “not severe enough,” or “unclassifiable,” but that language hides how unique they really are. Each one mirrors the Memory Constellations of a Malignant Complex, deeply personal patterns born from trauma, and the equally unique life circumstances of the person living them. No two are the same, because no two souls carry the exact same story.

Why It Matters

The lack of a diagnosis, it its core, is dismissive. The root cause of your so-called undifferentiated non-diagnosis might not be in your bloodwork, but in the unhealed memories shaping your body’s signals. Learning to read those signals is the first step to reclaiming your health and your power.
